Riding a bike is a great way to keep your physical and mental health in check if you follow the advice on social distancing and good hygiene. Your boost in immunity is super important at this time and if you remain active it will remain happy. To ride your Charicycle in proper social distancing format ride on your own, or with people you live with, and keep two meters apart from other cyclists/people you come into contact with.
Riding responsibly is a way to protect ourselves and our community. And we can all do more! Here is what we recommend you consider every time you go out cycling:Riding a bicycle is a generally low-risk activity, but with COVID19 our health and emergency workers are under intense pressure to manage the virus. Let’s reduce the risk on them as much as possible by being extra responsible when cycling, here is how you can exercise responsibility:
use a helmet and vest at all times
make sure your lights are functional
make sure your bell works
avoid going out when there is no sunlight
making sure you have enough hydration in your re-usable flask
Make sure to cover your head with a hat/cap to keep you protected from the sun
Make sure you ride in routes you know and are not too far away from home
Let’s use this time as a way to ride recreationally and decelerate as opposed to increase risk through challenging ourselves. If every member of the cycling community continues to ride responsibly we will continue to be able to ride and enjoy some movement in the outdoor world. As always we are here for you, stay safe, stay healthy and ride responsibly!
